Board Member Requirements/Updates
There is a requirement for all BIDs to have a minimum of 5 board members. With the departure of Erik Washkuhn and Integrative Care out of South Omaha, we are in need of an additional board member.
There was a discussion on keeping the board more manageable with 5 board members. The ideal future board member has to be representative of the diversity of South Omaha, with a good pulse on what is going on and community oriented. The search for the new board member has to be finalized within a month.
Some recommendations mentioned were Ricardo Castro, who owns property in the BID, someone from Comunidad Maya Pixam-Ixim, and someone from Heartland Workers Center. It was decided to start with Heartland Workers Center to inquire about someone from their team to join the BID board.
