Meeting Minutes
Ross Pesek, Chairman – Welcome
Note - there was no quorum for this meeting, no votes were made.
Board Member Requirements/Updates
Recruitment efforts have been made by meeting individually with Lina Traslavina from Heartland Workers Center and Luis Marcos from Comunidad Maya Pixan Ixim. All application information was sent to them and there was additional communication to confirm. Luis Marcos let us know he was not available but someone from his board could apply. We sent the information to Ilse Ramirez-Palin from his board as well. None of the candidates responded or completed the application.
New candidates recommended were Cecilia from Cecy’s Decorations and Merlyn Menjivar from Twins Daycare.
Grant Updates
Lighting Grant- no update.
OCF Neighborhood Application- NO updates, still waiting for communication from OCF.
South 24th Street Issues & Updates
Adelante Project- No updates, but we are curious about where the new parking area to replace Plaza de la Raza will be and when information will be shared.
Planting Day 2026
Pesek Law volunteers will coordinate planting day.
Next Steps and Priorities
Continue with foundational work of BID- Cleaning, planting day, safety.
Identifying and recruiting new board members.
Next meeting - June 24- Public BID Meeting 2
Next internal Board meeting-July 15, 10 AM at Pesek Law or virtual.
